Biographical history

Francis Jupp was born in 1902. He served as the chief engineer of the cable ship Restorer for 27 years, starting in 1916. His career ended in 1943, when he collapsed from a stroke on the ship, after full speed ahead to avoid a submarine in Alaskan waters.Read more

Series consists of two black and white photographs related to Francis Jupp's career on the CS Restorer and one photographic postcard of the CS Restorer with a handwritten message to his wife Lillian Jupp.
