Fonds consists of a journal containing sproting notes on the pacific station by Lieutenant C.T. Hodgson, Royal Navy, HMCS Shearwater c. 1902-1905.
These are notes compiled by the writer for the benefit of his fellow officers. They are contained in a 'Torpedo Log & Progress Book'. At some later date the book was used as a scrap book and has a great number of pictures pasted into it, some covering portions of Hodgson's work.

This book was in the possession of Mrs. T.L. Milnes, niece of Liutenant Hodgson, until 1970. Previously in the collection of the Alberni Valley Museum and Historical Society, before being donated by c/o Mrs. E.W. Adams.
