Includes Vol. VIII, no. 2 of the "Pacific Empress" newspaper, printed and published daily aboard Canadian Pacific Steamships, an RMS Empress of Japan passenger list for voyage from Vancouver and Victoria to Honolulu departing 25 June 1938, and twelve Empress of Japan menus.

Fonds consists of a small, red leather diary kept by stoker petter officer A. Thomas (later magistrate) on HMCS Rainbow and Grise, dating from 26 April 1918 to 20 November 1918 and a chief engineer's log book for SS Salvage King commanded by A. Thomas, dating from April to May 1940.

Fonds consists of two photocopies of images of RMS Empress of Australia and one of another, unidentified C.P.R. ship, a 1950 issue of "Rainbow Log' newsletter of the Royal Canadian Sea Cadets, a black and white photograph of a crowd of people with an unidentified ship in the background, and a black and white photograph of a CYD class cruiser at Ogden Point ca. 1926.

Fonds consists of photographs of Bill Cottingham (believed to be the same man in all photos), three in sailor uniform and two in civilian clothes, at least one of those taken in Manila, Philipines.

Fonds also includes a photograph of an unidentified woman aboard the ship Chemonceaux, two photographs of RMS Empress of Russia, and a 1935 Christmas card from RMS Empress of Russia.

Fonds consists of an envelope with a drawing of Captain Cook sent via Paquebot Mail from the Cook Passage, Nootka Sound, Vancouver Island, to the curator of "The Museum", Victoria, BC. Also includes a letter describing the meaning of the envelope, and a one page history of Paquebot mail, dated September 1978.

Fonds consists of three certificates of discharge for Calvin Foote dated 1876, 1881, and 1882, a manuscript listing of ships in which Foote served from 1886 to 1903 and the years he served as a pilot, 1907 to 1929, and a photocopy of a newspaper clipping of the obituary of Captain John Calvin Foote, early B.C. captain and pilot, dated 7 July 1949.
