Fonds consists of pages from "The Ocean Chronicle" newspaper/newsletter dating to 9 October 1883 and 26 February 1884, published by E.P. Nichols, at sea, on board the ship Frank Pendleton. Pages were collected by donor's grandfather, Mr. H.E. Willby, while on route to North America from Portugal.

Fonds consists of a hand printed, hand bound book titled "Thermopylae The Challenge: The story of one of Sagres II's Predecessors" written by John Crosse, a member of the Thermopylae club, 1978. This book is a new and revised version of a book originally published under the title "Thermopylae and the age of clippers".
