              Fonds consists of an issue of the "Dawson Daily News" newspaper from Thursday, 7 November 1918. The top headline reads "Northland's Greatest Disaster, Foundering of S.S. Sophia Oct. 25, With all on Board". The article contains an account of the accident and a list of everyone who was lost.

              Fonds also includes a postcard addressed to Mr. William MacMillan in Dawson, Yukon, sent by A. Steward, from Skagway on 23rd October 1918. The postcard reads "Very enjoyable trip. Leaving tonight on Sophia. Regards and good luck to Mrs. [??] your wife + self. 'Cheer oh'". The postcard was sent before leaving Skagway, which wrecked that night.

              Fonds consists of a handwriten letter and data salvages from the wreck of the Strathan, 1900. The letter is dated 29 September 1899 from Bee to George F. Wake, Esq. Also, a photograph of a young lady, presumed to be Bee. The two envelopes addressed to Mr. Wake are torn.

              Fonds consists of a pocket size sailor's New Testament. Belonged to Lieutenant Berra while aboard HMS Bulwark, which was blown up in 1914. He survived the sinking and had the book with him.

              Also includes a book commemorating HMCS Skeena's first year in commission, compiled and edited by Lieutenant-Commander F.L. Houghton, R.C.N. Consists of a chronological account of the ship's activities during the period 10 June 1931 to 10 June 1932.

              Fonds consists of record files of the Department of Marine and Fisheries office of the wreck commissioner for B.C., including inquest documents, correspondence, and survey reports regarding the SS Alaskan enquiry, dating from 1922 to 1923.

              Also includes assorted correspondence from the Department of Marine and Fisheries Lighthouse Service, Department of National Defence, Yarrows Ltd, Wright Bros. Contractors & Engineers, McTaggart & Ellis, B.C.               Also includes assorted correspondence related to the inquiry by the office of the wreck commissioner for B.C. into the collision of a boom of logs belonging to the Canadian Puget Sound Lumber and Timber company with a submarine drilling plant working in Victoria Harbour in 1921 that resulted in damage and a casualty.

              Fonds also includes photocopies of correspondence from the Department of Marine and Fisheries related to erecting beacons and lights on the coast dating to 1887 and a two-page clipping from "The Daily News-Advertiser", 14 July 1912 consisting of a full page article on Hon. J.D. Haze, minister of Marine and Fisheries.

              Fonds also include annual reports from the Department of Marine and Fisheries, dating from 30 June 1869 to 30 December 1879.
