Also includes assorted correspondence related to the inquiry by the office of the wreck commissioner for B.C. into the collision of a boom of logs belonging to the Canadian Puget Sound Lumber and Timber company with a submarine drilling plant working in Victoria Harbour in 1921 that resulted in damage and a casualty.

Fonds consists of the personal papers and correspondence belonging to Mr George Charleson dating to the 1860s and 1870s relating to Mr. Charleson's posting as an English lighthouse keeper in Japan. Documents are in English and Japanese.

Fonds consists of a photocopy of a letter from Captain George Henry Richards, HM Surveying Ship Plumper, Langley Fraser River to His excellency James Douglas Esq., Governor of British Columbia, dated 21 January 1859 regarding the necessity of lighthouses on the Race Islands and Fisgard rocks.

Fonds consists of a small leather diary consisting of handwritten accounts of the vessel Herman which was used to service Race Rocks Lighthouse from 1871 to 1875. Two handwritten notes are slid into a pouch at the front, one dated 1843.
