CormackFonds consists of a photo album containing a photocopied book which details the history and ships of the Baron Line titled "H. Hogarth and Sons Limited Baron Line". The rest of the album contains black and white photographs of ships that Edward Peter de Cuhna served in with their names, positions, and dates of service listed as well as letters and certificates.
Also includes a binder containing navigational maps and charts and information regarding the River Thames in London and port in Amsterdam as well as a League of Nations report titled "Agreement for a Uniform System of Maritime Buoyage and Rules Annexed Thereto", published in Geneva, 1936, and printed in both French and English.
Also includes a folder containing an extract from a nautical magazine, training documents, charts and tables, and a plan for Tilbury Docks.
de Cunha, Captain Edward PeterFonds consists of photographs of pilot boats, tugs, the Bounty (replica), log booms, the explosion at Ripple Rocks, and ephemera. Also includes a photocopy of a sketch of a chart of the British Columbia Coast.
Fonds also includes a booklet titled "VIII Instruction Cruise Training Ship Esmeralda Chilean Navy 1962" consisting of black and white photographs of ships, crew, and geography, and articles written in English related to Chile. Also includes a postcard with a photograph of the Esmeralda.
Unwin, Captain Frank E.The fonds consists of a monthly time book logging crew's time and rate of pay from 1912 to 1914, kept by G.A. Casey, purser for the SS Coquitlam operated by Union Steamship Company of B.C.
Casey, G.A.The fonds consists of Grant's papers as able seaman and hunter in sealing vessels operating out of Victoria, British Columbia and out of Japan. Fonds relate to voyages between 1892 and 1908 and includes items such as wages for seal skins, itemized list of purchases for sealing trips, sailor's union pamphlet, correspondence, and grocery lists.
Also includes records from Victoria Sealing Company showing Grant's earnings in five schooners between 1900 and 1907 including, Director from December 1900 to October 1901; Triumph from December 1901 to September 1902; C.G. Cox from February to June 1907; Dora Sieward from June to November 1907; and Giblie (sp?) from January to October 1908. And, includes document dated 12 September 12 1892 on Marvin Company letterhead recoding a voyage of the schooner EB Marvin and showing wages, allowance for skins taken, and deductions for items purchased on board such as clothing and tobacco. This document shows that over a period of 8 months and 8 days Grant earned $410 but was charged $174.85 for purchases, for net earnings of $235.15. There is also a document in Russian dated 30 September 1905 showing that Grant, while a mate in the sealing schooner, Khokus Maru was arrested by the 199th Svir Regiment.
Grant, CharlesFonds consists of a copy of three of Lord Horatio Nelson's signatures, before and after the loss of his right arm collected by H.L. Cadieux. Signatures are on the back of a wood frame and are dated 1786, 1797, and 1802.
And, a booklet titled "Funnel Markings B.C. Coastal Shipping Companies" containing hand illustrated listings of the markings of various British Columbia vessels.
