This photo shows the profile of the Dawson with people on its decks. The caption at the bottom of the photo says B-Y Navigation Company Steamer leaving Dawson for White Horse (June 13, 1901) by Goetzman. The sternwheeler’s name is visible in this profile view.
Dawson was originally built in 1897 for Canadian Pacific but was sold in 1899. In 1901 she was rebuilt in Dawson for the British-Yukon Navigation Company until she foundered at Rink Rapids in 1926. She was named after the geologist George Mercer Dawson. She was 167 feet long.
The British Yukon Navigation Company was registered in Victoria on 28 March 1901.

Also includes a guest book register from HMCS Ontario dating from 1853-1954 and a photo album containing photos of HMCS Ontario, life on board, crew, and places visited (London, Hawaii, Australia, and New Zealand) dating from 1953-1955.

Also includes a printed photograph album of New South Wales given to Commodore Raymond from the Premier in 1954, and a photograph of a luncheon on 10 March 1954 in Wellington, New Zealand.

Fonds consists of a photo album containing a photocopied book which details the history and ships of the Baron Line titled "H. Hogarth and Sons Limited Baron Line". The rest of the album contains black and white photographs of ships that Edward Peter de Cuhna served in with their names, positions, and dates of service listed as well as letters and certificates.

Also includes a binder containing navigational maps and charts and information regarding the River Thames in London and port in Amsterdam as well as a League of Nations report titled "Agreement for a Uniform System of Maritime Buoyage and Rules Annexed Thereto", published in Geneva, 1936, and printed in both French and English.
