Fonds consists of articles from The Mechanic Arts Magazine vol IV, no. 6, July 1899 (reprint?) titled "Splices, Knots, and Bends" by Ernest K Roden, and article titled "To Splice a Wire Rope" by W.H. Morris.
This parchment certificate is given as a certificate of competency as master of a passenger steamer in the minor inland waters to John Webber. It was signed by the deputy Minister (illegible) and the Minister of Marine and Fisheries (Louis Henry Davies). The back provides: certificate number 3263, Webber’s birthplace as 27th July 1860 in Newfoundland, his signature, and that the examination for the certificate was done on 18th March 1901. There are some missing letters, ink transferred, and dirt because of its originally folded state.

Bailey explaining an attached document referring to submarines CC1 and CC2 and their acquisition by the Premier of British Columbia in 1914, by the son of the chief engineer of the Electric Boat Company of Seattle, builders of the submarines.
Bailey, C.B.Fonds consists of photocopied extracts from the journal of Mrs. Catharine Corkes (sp?) on a trip from Marseille to Malta on HMS Ganges from June to July, 1839.
The 17 maps cover the west coast of British Columbia, but primarily the south coast of Vancouver Island, with some coverage of Vancouver Island and the coast of the mainland. The maps contain small corrections from the time that they were published.
From the charts it is possible to get the names of the surveyors, see a pattern of the most common to show up are PC Musgrave, WK Willis, HD Parizeau, F Anderson, JH Knight, HP Douglas. Along with publication info there was also the occasional mention of JD (John Dennett) Potter who sold them as he was an agent for the Admiralty charts.

Fonds consists of survey log book kept by Captain Webber for various vessels surveyed and a blank checklist pamphlet titled "Measurement for tonnage and crew space accommodation also particulars of lights, fog, signals and life-saving appliances", issued by the Department of Transport.
Webber, CaptainFonds consists of photographs and documents related to the life and career of Captain Ron Newell who served as Victoria's Harbour Master from the 1940s to 1971, including documents related the sinking of a ship he was on as a teenager and his subsequent journey by lifeboat to safety, his work on Merchant Marine vessels, and photographs of various ships.
Newell, Captain RonFonds consists of a photocopy of a journal, written completely in Spanish, dating to 1792 detailing Captain Quadra's visit to Nootka to meet Captain George Vancouver. The original is held in Madrid, Spain and the copy was obtained by Premier Bennett on visit to Spain in 1968.
