Fonds consists of a log book kept my Mr. R. A. Donnelly, seaman, on HMCS Grilse, and a memorandum from the Captain Superintendent HMCS Dockard, Halifax to Commanding Officer HMCS Niobe regarding the commissioning of the HMCS Grilse dated 5 May 1917.

Fonds consists of a typed letter addressed to Rear Admiral E.W. Finch-Noyes recounting the writer's experience of the near sinking of the HMCS Grilse in 1916 and a newspaper clipping from 1916 that states that Grilse and all men are believed to be lost.

Also includes commissioning booklets of HMCS Saquenay, Skeena, Margaree, and Chaudiere, dating from 1956, 1957, and 1959, and a programme for the presentation of the Queen's Colour to the Royal Canadian Navy by Her Majesty the Queen in Halifax, Nova Scotia, Saturday 1 August 1959.
