Rawstorne relating to mine recommendations by the Admiralty and a reply containing a detailed report and chart with sections contributed by Captain G.E. Barnes and Lt. Poole, Royal Marine Artillery. Chart is of the mouth of Esquimalt Harbour.
Fonds also includes Barnes' photographs of Victoria and Esquimalt area and a mock battle in Beacon Hill Park (Victoria).

Also includes a small booklet containing information about Canadian Pacific Steamships and a passenger list for the Empress of Scotland sailing from Quebec to Cherbourg and Southampton Wednesday 18 July 1928 as well as a diner menu for Tuesday 24 July 1928 and a lunch menu for Wednesday 25 July 1928. The menus are postcards on the reverse and were collected as souvenirs of a voyage taken by Miss J. Phillips.
