• Continuous certificate of discharge book listing the ships on which he served and ports of discharge during the period of 1917 to 1925,
• Certificate of ordinary apprentice's indenture (Scotland) outlining the terms of indenture of Melville Jack with the Allan Line Steamship Company Limited, dated 3 January 1913,
• Certificate of Competency as master for foreign going steamships only for Melville Jack by order of the Board of Trade, signed 8 July 1920.
