Fonds consists of 2 private journals compiled by to G.H. Inskip. The first was created between 16 October 1846 and 6 May 1848 during a survey of the Australian Coast in H.M.S. Rattlesnake. The second, created between 4 January 1856 and 26 January 1859, records a voyage out to the Indian Ocean in the steamer Pera followed by surveys carried out on the coast of Siam (now Thailand) and includes descriptions of Bangkok and a number of Siamese court officials.

Fonds consists of 10 photo albums consisting of press clippings and photographs of various vessels from a cruise in the far east in 1962.
