Cargo ship built in 1943 in the United Kingdom as Hughli, 6,597 gross tons. Operated by Red Anchor Line, registered in London, she developed a leak in November 1962 when outbound from Crofton in to Japan with cargo of lumber. She returned to Esquimalt in distress and with 12 degree list, surveyed, repaired and resumed voyage.

One of a trio of 9,022 gross ton, 37 knot catamaran ferry completed for B.C. Ferries in 1999. MV Pacificat Voyager never entered service, (the other two “Fast Cats” saw service briefly between Horseshoe Bay and Nanaimo), and was auctioned in 2003 to Washington Marine and shipped to United Arab Emirates where she was not used and has since been donated to Egypt. She was designed to carry 1,000 passengers and crew and 250 vehicles.
